Meek Matters.
Joe Clyde and Ralph Bell were
callers of Elmer Rouse’s Sunday.
Mrs. Carry Hubby and family
were visitors at Jim Hoyer’s last
Sunday.
Arthur Rouse and Miss
Blanche Keyes were seen riding
around the country last Sunday.
Hanson and Addie Merridy
Vergie Hubby, Frank Griffith
and family, Miss Hamerlin and
Hasond Hatch were visitors at
Eric Borg’s Sunday.
A party was given at A. L.
Rouse’s last Saturday evening.
All who were there reported a
fine time.
Horace Rouse took supper at
R. D. Spindler’s last Sunday
evening.
Mr. and Mrs. Joe Shollmyer
were visitors at Harry Fox’s Sun
day.
Miss Maude, Edith and Bertha
Rouse, who are teaching school
in Boyd county, spent Saturday
and Sunday at home, returning
Monday to their schools.
Mr. and Mrs. George Bay
were callers of Elmer Rouse’s
Sunday.
Kola Items
There was quite a little excite
ment south of Kola on the 29 by
a prairie fire, started by some live
coals which Elmer Selix emptied
near his home. For a while it
was thought he would loose his
home, but by the heroic efforts of
Mr. Smith and neighbors this was
averted. John Liske who was
hauling hay seeing the fire head
ing his way back fired and saved
all of Kellogue and Bruner’s hay.
The only loss was a stack of hay
which belonged to Selix.
Jacob Pfundand wife, and John
A. Kennedy attended the protest
case, which Mrs. Vesta Crabbs
and her son Francis Roosa filed
against Mrs. J. O. Hubbel at O’
Neill last week. Mrs. Crabbs
being the only witness against the
defendant and the other fifteen
witnesses were all for Mrs.
Hubbel.
Two brothers of Mr. and Mrs.
Howarth who came from Albion,
Neb., were here visiting last
week.
F. D. Burkert and wife are re
joicing over the arrival of a little
son at their home on the 12 of
March.
Mr. and Mrs. O. W. Baker
were pleasantly surprised on the
evening of the 28, it being their
16th aniversary. After spending
the evening in games and a good
social time. After a fine lap
supper the party broke up wish
ing Mr. and Mrs. Baker many
more aniversarys in the future.
Rev. C. E. Burch, pastor of
Inez and Amelia charges, with
Mr. Almond, Evangelist, recent
ly over from England, visited at
Kola on the 28th. They are
holding revival meetings at Inez
and are having good success.
