should the first party be unable to
begin active work on or before the
date above mentioned that this con
tract shall not thereby become null
and void; but the said first party
shall pay to the said second party
such damages as the second party may
sustain, by reason of said delay. But
the said first party is not to be held
responsible for delays in transpor
tation or those caused by the elements
mobs, strikes among workmen, the
acts of providence, or by late delivery
of raw metal from mills.
In consideratien of the performance of
the foregoing stipulations and agree
ments,the said second hereby agrees
to pay to the said first party the sum
of twenty-four hundred ($2400.00
dollars, as follows:
Estimates shall be allowed on work
performed and materials furnished
from time to time as the work pro
gresses, in no event to exceed 80 per
cent of the value of said work done or
material furnished and the remainder

thereof immediately upon the com
pletion of said work. It is further
agreed that should any of the above
mentioned payment not be made when
due as aforesaid they shall bear in
terest at the rate of 7 per cent per
annum from such date until paid.

she will visit relatives for a while.

A large crowd of the young
people attended the surprise
dance at Neinow’s Saturday
night given in honor of Miss
Esther’s 18th birthday. Every
one present seemed to enjoy
themselves. Here’s hoping there
will soon be another one.

here this week visiting with his
mother, Mrs. Lev Garnet.
The basket ball boys went to
Stuart last Saturday where they
played a return game. The
score 14 to 25 in favor of Inman.

Gallagher at her home last Mon
day evening A social evening
was had.
Ola Ek aad daughter Lilly
will leave for Omaha Wednesday
where they will visit with friends
and from there they will go to
Altantic, Iowa, to visit with his
daughter, Mrs. Earl Miller, and
family.
The Pleasant Hill Comedy Co,
or the Clear Water home talent
presented a play at Inman last
Friday entitled, “Dot, the Miners
Daughter”, or “One Glass of
Wine”. It was a dandy play and
was appreciated by all present.
