Gentlemen: We hereby petition
your honorable body to strike from the
tax list the tax levied for the year
1911 against lot one (1) to eleven (11)
inclusive, and lot sixteen (16) In block
five (5) In the original town of O’Neill
and block two (2) three (3) and four
(4) in McCafferty’s Annex to the town
of O’Neill, for the reason that the
same is school property.
This property ha9 been previously
stricken from the tax list by your
honorable body for taxes levied
against it.

Oounty, Nebraska.
1 am informed by one of the resi
dents of Paddock Township that Mr.
Clarence Simonson haB moved the
fenoe on the west side of the north
west quarter of section thirty-five in
township thirty-one, north of range
eleven, west of the sixth principal
meridian some six or eight feet into
the public road on the section line be
tween seotion thirty-four and thirty
five in said township and range. That
he has also fixer' » plow tor an anchor
to one of his ( ner posts some six or
eight feet into the road and in the
wagon track usually traveled by the
public on said road between section
twenty-six and thirty five and has
attached a wire from said plow to the
oorner post of his fence at the north
west oorner of section thirty-five.
That this plow and the wire attached
therefrom to the corner post is dan
gerous to public travel and your body
should make an order to the road
overseers of the district In which this
public road is located requiring him
Immediately to remove said obstruc
tion and to require Mr. Simonson to
place his fence on the line on the east
side of seotion road where said fence
has been for some years.

Resolution.
Whereas, it appears from the re
cords in the county clerk’s office that
on January 24, 1890, Barrett Soott, as
Treasurer of Holt county, Nebraska,
executed a tax deed of the northeast
quarter of the southeast quarter of
section 21, township 31, north of range
11, west of the sixth principal meridian
to the farmer’s Loan & Trust Co., and
that on March 8,1890, the said Farm
er’s Loan & Trust Company duly quit
claimed said real estate to Holt county
the first of said deeds being recorded
in book X page 29, and the second in
book Y, page 474, of the deed records
of said County.
And whereas, it further appears
that the taxrs for which said land
was sold were levied against the same
for the years 1886, 1887 and 1888, while
said 40-acre tract was still government
land, and that said taxes were there
fore erroneously levied and uncollect
able.
And whereas Holt county has
never claimed any interest in or right
to said 40-aore tract, now, therefore,
be it resolved by the board of County
supervisors of Holt county, Nebraska,
that a quit claim deed of said real
estate be, and the same hereby is
given to William J. Welsh, the
present owner of said 40 acres. And
that the County of Holt hereby re
leases and relinquishes any and all
Interest in and to said 40-acre tract.
Be it further resolved that the
chairman of this board and the county
clerk be, and they hereby are.
authorized and directed to execute
and deliver to the said William J.
Welsh in the name of Holt county, a
good and sufficient quit olaim deed in
due form of said real estate.
