The entire republican state ticket was elected with majorities ranging from 200 to 10,000. Antelope was the banner Aldrich county In Northeastern Nebraska. It gave him a majority of 1,019. Whl}e several townships throughout the county polled a very light vote the vote la the county was the heaviest cast for several years. The Sixth congressional district gave Alprlch two-thirds of the major ity he reoelved in the state. His ma jority in this district was 9,500. The Frontier extends congratula tions to Brothers Kirk of the Creigh ton Newt, Taylor of the Central City Nonpariel and Jones of the Olay ' Center Sun upon their election to the legislature from their respective counties. G, M. Hitchcock and George £. Hall, (he democratic candidate for state treasurer, are the only demo crats on the state ticket that oarrled this oounty. The balance of the re publican.state ticket received small majorities In the county. Hon. John Kuhl of Randolph has announced his candidacy for speaker of the next house. Mr. Kuhl has served two terms In the house and is well qualified for the position and The Frontier is acquainted with no demo crat it would rather see in the speakers chair than John Kuhl. Aldrich’s official majority over Dahl man in this county is 379. Six weeks ago The Frontier said that Aldrich would carry this county by 300 over Dahlman and two weeks before elect ion revised that estimate and claimed the county for Aldrich by nearly 5C0. So it would seem as if we could lay claim to being a political prophet. Klnkald’s majority in the Sixth dis trict is about 3,500. In the First dis trict Maguire has a maiorlty over Hayward of 738. In the Third dis trict Latta’s majority over Boyd is 7,371. In the Fourth district Sloan defeated Good by 1,239 votes, while in the Fifth Norris has a majority of 4,354 over Sutherland. Two years ago Norris won in this distrlot by only 24 votes. Crabtree defeated Jackson in this county by 184 votes. From this it would appear as if Mr. Jackson did not have very good standing in this coun ty where he served for county super intendent for four years and which afterwards elevated him to the state house. Those who are intimately ac quainted with Mr. Jackson are con fident that he received as many votes as he deserved in hl9 old home. Thanksgiving Menu •** .»» > j* AT j* j* j» 1 J. P. Hansen is husking corn for Calmer Simonson. Calmer Simonson is building a new barn on his premises. Everit Frost ii to be the postmaster of the Mineola post-office, and it will soon be moved to his store. H. B. Oubbard started to build his new house on the 7th inst. and at this writing has it nearly ready for occu pancy. The size of the house is 24x24 and one story high, that is going some for one weeks work. The first report we had in regard to the election, was to the effect that C. H. Aldrich beat his erstwhile oppon ent Jas. C. Dahlman by a large maj ority. That is just as it should be, Dahlman has been weighed in the balance and found wanting, he was not a fit man to fill the position to which he was aspiring. On the other hand Aldrich has been tried before in a position of hon or and trust, and has fulfilled his dut ies well and faithfully. He wiil make a splendid executive officer for the great State of Nebraska. Hunah for Aldrich. Last fall we included in our items an account of a preacher from Eng land, who held services for a time in District No. 62. The same fellow is here again, trying to convert the young people to his peculiar creed. If his sole mission was to preach the word ol -fiodj it would be different but when be is preaching a creed that has for its object, the suppression of the church, Sunday school, day school and institutions of publicgovernment, tben It is high time that the school board, and other men in authority should firmly refuse to allow him the use ol school bouses, hall or any other build ing. The proper function of our schools and ohurcbes is to train the youth of our land to be good Christian Americ an citizens, and any influence that would have a tendency to defeat that object1 should be sternly suppressed. His beliefs are similar to that of an anarchist, and it is a shame to allow him to preach in our school house. For Sale.
