Blake returned from Mexico last week and says he will henceforth be content with Atkinson. He made good money down there, but the clim ate is something fierce and it’s no place for a white man to live—unless he has stolen something and wants a hot place in wuich to do his repenting. Last Tuesday while running a feed grinder, Geo. Reis, who lives east of Atkinson, got two fingers caught in the wheels and they were severely mashed, considerable bone having to be removed from one of them. How ever, Dr. Douglas is sanguine that with proper care it will not be necess ary to amputate the fingers entirely. A committee representing the At kinson base ball team visited the business men of Atkinson this week and inform the Gaaphic that they re ceived subscriptions to the amount of about $75.
