The Constantinople newspaper,
Ikdam, has been suppressed for an
indefinite period by the sultan, Abdul
Hamid, and all because the editor
inadvertently omitted a single letter
in a word in his newspaper. The error
displeased the sultan, who acted ac
cording to his displeasure and vetoed
the publication If such a rule was
enforced in this country, we would
soon be without newspapers.
How to Prevent Croup.
It will be good news to the mothers
of small children to learn that croup
can be prevented. The first sign of
croup is hoarseness. A day or two
before the attack the child becomes
hoarse, This is soon followed by a
peculiar rough cough. Give Chamber
lain’s Cough Remedy freely as soon as
the child becomes hoarse, or even
after the rough cough appears, and it
will dispel all symptoms of croup. In
this way all danger and anxiety may
be avoided. This remedy is used by
many thousands of mothers and has
never been known to fail. It is, in
fact, the only remedy that can always
be depended upon and that is pleasant
and safe to take. For sale by P. C.
Corrigan.

W W. T. EVANS, Prop.
Don’t forget the old man
with the fish on his back.
For nearly thirty years he
has been traveling around the
world, and is still traveling,
bringing health and comfort
wherever he goes.
To the consumptive he
brings the strength and flesh
he so much needs.
To all weak and sickly
children he gives rich and
strengthening food.
To thin and pale persons
he gives new firm flesh and
rich red blood.
Children who first saw the
old man with the fish are now
grown up and have children
of their own.
He stands for Scott’s Emul
sion of pure cod liver oil—a
lelightful food and a natural
onic for children, for old folks
.nd for all who need flesh and
trength.

A Timely Suggestion.
This is the season of the year when
the prudent and careful housewife re
plenishes her supply of Chamberlain’s
Cough Remedy. It is certain to be
needed before the winter is over, and
results are much more prompt and
satisfactory when it is kept at hand
given as soon as tlie cold is contracted
and before it lias become settled in
tlie system. In almost every instance
a severe cold may be warded off by
taking this remedy freely as soon as
the lirst indication of tlie cold
appears. There is no danger in giving
it to children for it contains no harm
ful substance. It is pleasant to take—
both adults and children like it. Buy
it and you will get the best. It al
ways cures. For sale by P. C. Corri

Climatic Cures.
The influence of climatic conditions
in the cure of consumption is very
mucli overdrawn. The poor patient,
and the ricli patient, too, can do much
better at home by proper attention to
food digestion, and a regular use of
German Syrup. Free expectoration in
tlie morning is made certain by Ger
man Syrup, so is a good night’s rest
and tlie absence of that weakening
cough and debilitation night sweat.
Restless nights arid tlie exhaustion
due to coughing, tlie greatest danger
and dread of the consumptive, can be
prevented or stopped by taking Ger
man Syrup liberally and regularly.
Should you be able to go to a warmer
clime, you will iind that of the thous
ands of consumptives there, the few
who are benefited and regain strength
are those who use German Syrup.
