HEALTH BOARD MEETS

with any of tlie above mentioned
diseases, or exposed thereto, viz:
First—That when such member
of tliis board is satisfied that any
person is afflicted with any contagious,
infectious or malignant disease and
that such disease is dangerous to tlie
public health, lie may immediately
place a suitable person in charge of
the premises occupied by such person
and cause a notice in writing to be
served on the one in possession of said
premises setting forth that tlie
same are quarantined, or such mem
ber may cause the one so afflicted to
be placed in tlie pest house of such
district or county, if there be one,
and the notice so served shall be suf
ficient to constitute a quarantine of
said premises. Tlie above provision
applies in cases of exposure.
Second. That when any house or
premises shall have been so quaran
tined it shall then be unlawful for
any person occupying such house or
premises go therefrom while theorder
of quarant ine shall stand and it shall
likewise be unlawful for any person
except the attending physician, the
members of tlie Board of Health and
the nurses employed, to go to said
premises without t lie consent of at
least one member of the Board of
the Board of Health. That any per
son violating yre provisions of this
rule shall be guilty of a misdemeanor
and shall be prosecuted and fined, as
herein-before provided.
. Third. When any dwelling house
or premises shall have been quaran
tined as herein provided, it shall be
the duty of the member of the Board
Health declaring tlie quarantine to
cause a placard to be put up in a con
spicuous place on said premises, which
shall have printed thereon in large
type the name of the disease there ex
istiting, said type shall be at least
three inches in height, and upon the
declaring of such quarantine such
members shall place in charge of such
person or dwelling a suitable person
who shall he governed bv the reemla
tions and rules above provided.
Fourth. Such quaratine may be
maintained until the member of the
Board of Health in charge shall say
that said premises are free from
disease for which the same were
quarantined, and until the premises
have been carefully and completely
fumigated and disinfected, including
the contents of the same.
18. It shall be the duty of any
practicing physician when he discov
ers any of the above diseases to notify
at once the secretary of the Board of
Health, and said secretary shall forth
with not ify in writing, each or any
member of the Board of Health. That
in cases of extreme emergency a tem
porary quarantine may be enforced
by the physician in charge of the case.
19. It shall be lawful for said Board
of Health or any members thereof,
to order any persons vaccinated. The
expense of such vaccination shall be
paid by the person so vaccinated, or
by the person ordinarily liable for
similar medical attention.
20. When any member of this
Board shall find any nuisance' in the
dist rict of which he has charge, which
might engender the lodgment or
spread of any of the aforementioned
diseases he shall notify in writing,
the secretary of this Board, that said |

of said nuisance. In case they order
that said nuisance be removed or
destroyed they shall first give notice
to the party then in possession or
charge to remove or destroy the same
within twenty four hours. In case
the said party does not remove or
destroy the same the Board shall order
such nuisance removed or destroyed
at the expense of the person responsi
ble for the the existance of ttie same.
It is hereby provided that the Board
of Health shall have general control
of all matters concerning the general
health; that any member of this
Board shall have special control of file
district assigned to tiim. That said
Board have the implied power to do
anything and all things necessary to
enforce these rules and regulations.
21. These rules and regulations
and the appointments herein made
shall be in force and effect upon the
publication of the same in the official
paper of this Board.
