Election is coming and the republi
cans should all join hands and make a

Ira J. Burleson left last Friday for
Net* York state where he will spend a
month visiting with the friends of his
former home.
Darnell Golden and Clarence Camp
bell rode up from O’Neill on their
wheels last Sunday morning, returning
in the evening.
There will be another ball next Fri
day from which the prooeede will go to
repairing the streete and aidewalks.
Everyone should attend.
Dr. F. 8. Hunt, Rev. Smith, Jacob
Kroft, J. A. Rice, Wm. Gill, H. John
son and J. N. Hooey were down from
i Stuart laat evening to see R. H. Jenness
take his third ride on the Masonic goat.
It would be hard to And a stronger
oandidate for county dark on the repub
lican ticket than O. M. Collins, and it is
generally conceded that be will receive
the nomination without much opposi
tlon. ' ■
Wm. Dickerson is spoken of as a
possible candidate before the republican
convention for sheriff. If Will should
receive the nomination he would make
a strong run, as there is not a more
popular man in the county.

Nebraska, against N. B. Blsbee and Cargill
Graham,defendants, the object and prayer
of which petition Is to recover Judgment (and
enforce the payment thereof) on one certain
promissory note given and made by said
defendants for the sum of 12804.66, dated May
18, 1892, due six months after date, to draw
interest at the rate of ten per cent, per an
num; that there Is now due on said note the
sura of 83906.75, for which sum plalhtlffs ask
Judgment, that since the beginning of said
action plaintiffs caused to be Issued out of
said court an order of attachment against
the lands, tenements, goods, chattels stocks
and oredits and what might be owing to said
Cargill Graham in Holt county aforesaid and
caused In connection with said order of
attachment one Charles Knapp therein said
Holt county to be notified or garnisheed to
appear In said court 20th day of July, A. D.
1897, and there answer all questions pro
pounded to him touching the property of said
Cargill Graham In said Knapp's possession
or under his control, the object being to
roach und obtain an order from the court
requiring said Knapp to pay upon the Judg
ment which plaintiffs seek to recover the
amount be agreed to pay as the purchase
price for one quarter section of land situated
in Holt county, which land In faot belongs to
said Cargill Graham and the purohase price
of which Is to be paid to said Cargill Grahum
by said Charles Knapp, or to be paid to some
third person for the benefit of said Cargill
Graham. You, Cargill Graham, are required
to answer said petition on or before the 16th
day of August, A. D. 1897.

object and prayer of which Is to foreclose a
mortgage dated March 13, 1888, for WOO and
Interest upon the southeast quarter ot the
northeast quarter (8EI4 NBJ4), northeast
quarter of the southeast quarter (NE!4 SEJ*)
of section twenty-one (21) and the west half
of the southwest quarter of section tweuty
two(22) In township twenty-seven @7) range
sixteen (18) west of the sixth P. M. In Holt
county, Nebraska, given by Philo Drake and
Adeline Drake to John J. Roeha, trustee, and
assigned to plaintiff, which mortgage was
recorded In book 85 of mortgages on page 605
of the records of Holt county.
Plaintiff prays for a decree that defendants
pay 8563.33 with interest at 10 per cent, from
sept. 30, 1897. and the further sum of 189.20
for taxes paid by plaintiff with interest from
Sept. 30. 1897. ut 10 per cent, and that in
default thereof said premises may be sold to
satisfy the amount found due.
