D„ 1896: A Joint resolution proposing to smend sections two (2), four (4), and five (6.) of article six (6) of the Consti tution of th* State of Nebraska, relat ing to number of judges of the supreme court and their term of offlce. Be It resolved and enacted *lijr the Leg islature of the State of Nebraeka: ..Section 1. That section two (S) of ar ticle six (6) of the Constitution of the State of Nebraska bo amended so as to read as follows: Beotlon t The supreme court Shall- until otherwise provided by law, consist of live (5) Judges, a majority of whom shall be necessary to form a quorum or to pro nounce a decision. It shall have original Jurisdiction In cases relating to revenue, civil casea In which the state shall be a party, mandamus, quo warranto, habeas corpus, and such appellate Jurisdiction, as may bo provided by law. ! .Section t. That section four (4) of article ■lx («) of the Contaitutton of the State of Nebraska, be amended so as to read aa follows: Section t The Judges of the supremo court shall be elected by the electors of the stats at large, and their term of offlce, except aa hereinafter provided, shall be for a period of not less than live (5) years as the legislature may prescribe.
