EXIT KINO.
With this issue the junior editor
lays aside the pen, hangs up the
scissors and bids Fbontieb readers a
kindly farewell. His interests have
been transferred to his partner, D.
H. Cronin, who will ably conduct
the business in the future.
While presiding over this depart
ment of the paper daring the past
five years he has labored to make
the page instraotive at times and in
teresting always. The snoeess of
his efforts iB not for him to record.
It is with a feeling akin to regret
that he discontinues his newspaper
work in O’Neill, bat in saying the
parting words he reaches oat the
hand of friendship to his friends
and extends an original package of
charity to eaoh individual enemy.
For the last time admonishing re
publicans to stand pat; that Colum
bia expects every patriot to do his
duty, he subscribes himself,
Clyde Kino.
-P. S. Now is the time to sub
scribe.
Having assumed entire editorial
control and management of Thi
Fbomtuh, we will endeavor in
the future, as in the past, to give
the citizens of O’Neill and Holt
county a good, live newspaper.
Thanking our many friends for
their liberal patronage in the past
and hoping that we will merit a con
tinuation of the same we remain,
Tours for business,
D. H. Cbonih.

We agree with Senator Wolcot
; as to there being a need for “lea
hysterics and more common sense,’
, not only in Colorado, but every
where else.
It is painful to hear a laboring
man vociferating in favor of fret
coinage. He knows about as litth
as the pensioner who thinks fret
silver would benefit him.
When Mr. Bryan makes that Nev
York speech he should specifically
reply to the charge that he has beer
in the employ of the silver mine
owners ever since he retired from
congress. •
Wx sever read anything thal
savored more of mediocrity than
the speeches Bryan has been making
from the car steps on his way east.
Commonplace; terribly, painfnlly
commonplace.
Or course McKinley has a cam
paign fond. So has Bryan. Either
of the gentlemen wonld be consid
ered unfit for the presidency if he
undertook to make a campaign
without a fund.
—.—
By reading Bryan’s speeches Thi
Frontier has become convinced that
he is glad he received the nomina
tion and feels highly complimented
to find a per cent, of the people
supporting him.
It is just as well to call attention
to the fact that a silver president
can easily, through the secretary of
the treasury, throw this country
upon a silver basis without Congres
sional legislation.
Tax New York man’s offer to
bet $10,000 to $5,000 that McKinley
will be elected has not yet been
taken up. The Bryanites talk con
fidence, but when it comes to back
ing it with cash they are out of it.
It has been found expedient to
release Bryan from the editorial
management of the World-Herald.
Metcalf, familiarly known as “Met,”
for a long time on the Herald, has
been promoted to Mr. Bryan’s posi
tion. The paper will suffer nothing
by the change. Metcalf has been
doing the heavy work all the time
anyway and The Frontier is glad to
see him placed in a position where
proper credit may be given him for
his efforts.
To show the effect the mere idea
of free silver is having upon the
country at large, we publish a letter
received this week from the Dr.
Miles Medical Company, a firm that
has done a great amount of news
paper advertising:
Elkhart, Ind., August 1, 1806.
Editors Frontier: To protect our
selves in time of panic and financial
distress—which regard as inevitable if
the unexpected should happen in No
vember—we have decided to add the
following condition to alii contracts
made for newspaper advertising:
It is also agreed that should the free
silver candidate Bryan be elected, the
Or. Miles Medical Company have the
privilege of cancelling this contract.
From this date contracts without this
clause will not be accepted.
Respectfully,
Da. Miles Medical Co.

Wis.—Gentlemen: For forty years I
used tobacco in all its forms. For 26
years of that time I was a great sufferer
from general deoility and hesrt disease.
For fifteen years I tried to quit, but
couldn't. I took various remedies,
among others “No-To-Bac,” "The Indian
Tobaoco Antidote,” "Double Chloride of
Gold,” ete., etc., but none of them did me
the least bit of good. Finally, however,
I purchrsed a box of your “Baoo-Curo”
and it has entirely cured me of the habit
in all its forms, and I have increased 80
pounds in weight and au\ relieved from
all the numerous aches and pains of
body and mind. I could write a quire of
paper upon my changed feeling and con

THE SAFE STORE
O’Neill, Neb.
There isn’t a store in the whole country that sells clothing as
“The Nebraska” dees. It is an exceptional store, it is a reliable store,
it is an absolutely safe store. The price today is the price tomorrow
and the next day, and the price to one is the price to all We hare
no favorites, we make no discounts, and we never resort to catch
penny methods of marking some goods low in order to sell you other
goods high. Our practice of instantly refunding money when goods
don’t suit is the best proof you can have that our goods and prices
are all right. For eleven years we have been building up a vast bus
iness on these principles and our business was never so large, our
prices never so low, as they are this spring.
8end for our catalogue. It contains samples of goods and will
save you a geeat many dollars above what you have to pay for the
same qualities at home. It is a book that ought to be in every
clothing buyer’s hand.
