F. A. Crane, who went to At-
wood. Colorado, several weeks

J. H. Argabright recently sold
about 1500 bushels of corn to
Lafe Higeins, delivering it at
Stella, for which he received 80
cents' per bushel. It is safe to
say he is not complaining of hard
times.

arrived Wednesday evening and
will be ready for business to
night. He will stay until after
the picnic.
J. H. Dundas announces him
self as a candidate for state sen
ator and will endeavor to bt
elected without the aid or con
sent of any party, as he doesn't
believe in parties.
Geo. W. Brown, manager of
Brown's Business college at Lin
coln, gave us a pleasant call
Monday. Mr. Brown had been
in town a few days in the inter
est of his college.
Mrs. Byral Day, of California,
well known to many of our citi
zens as Mrs. Hull of Stella, has
been engaged as one of the at
tractions of the Old Settlers' Pic
nic. She is a fine soloist. Geo.
D. Carrington, Jr., has also
promised us some solos.
D. E. Klise of Garnett, Kan
sas, visited Nemaha friends from
Tuesday until Thursday. Mr.
Klise is the step-father of Mrs.
F. L. Woodward and Mrs. Geo.
Yackly. He had been visiting
relatives in Iowa, and stopped
here on his way home.
M. H. Taylor of Shubert was
a Nemaha visitor Tuesday. Mr.
Taylor has been at Hot Springs,
Arkansas, recently, and expects
to return in a few days. He is
taking treatment for kidney and
stomach trouble. He informs us
that he will move to Peru only
