Lemon Mrs. Jcsephine Lemon, wife of W. H. Lemon of St. Deroin, died Monday forenoon, Dec. 30, 1907. Mrs. Lemon had been in very poor health for some time, with consumption, but had kept up and her death was not expect ed so soon. A few days previous ly she had gone over to a sister's, living east of Shubert, near the brick church, and died there. The funeral sereices were held at the Barada church Wednesday and the remains laid at rest in the Barada cemetery. Josephine Siemering was, born Sept. 10, 1861, and grew to wo manhood in Richardson county, Nebr. Was married to W. H. Lemon in 1884, and three years later moved to St. Deroin, in Nemaha county, and lived there until her death. She was con verted October 10, 1892, and lived a consistent Christian life since then. She departed this life Dec. 30, 1907, aged 46 years, 3 months and 20 days. Ben der ran the drug store. Willing Bros, carried a full stock of hard ware. Theo. Hill bought grain and sold agricultural implements. J. B. Rees had the livery barn. Levi Johnson was landlord of the City hotel and J. B. Hoover was also running a hotel in the brick where Earle Gilbert now lives. J. P. Crother was the shoemaker and harnessmaker. D. A. Mor ton, S. A. Huntington and Grant Clover were the blacksmiths. J. G. Gilliland had the barber shop. Peter Kerker was running a meat market. Jas. Kay, L. M. Foster and B. Bell Andrews were the physicians. J. W. Hubbell had just succeeded W. A. Swearinger as agent at the depot. . At the village election held the week previous John Blair, Peter Kerker, A. H. Scoville, Enoch Cummings and J. B. Hoover were elected trustees.
