NEMAHA SCHOOLS
A'emuliu County 'JVnulior.
In the geneial advancement of the
cause of education in Nemaha .county,
Nemaha is holding her own.
There has never been so great an
interest shown In Nemaha for our
schools as now. 'There seems to be a
gen'eial awakening on the part of both
patrons and tho boaid of education,
and tho prospects for the success ot
our schools in the future Is bright.
During the past year tho board has
done its duty manfully, and lias ims
proved tho school premises wonder
fully.
The school building lias been painted
inside, the walls whitened and re-
plastered where needed, and tlnlloois
oiled.
Tho sidewalks and roof have been
repaired.
Over 8200 worth of now text bookB
liavo boon purchased, all of them the
latest, modem, up-to-date texts.
About fifty volumes of standard
literature have been added to tho
library, and a nice book case haa been
placed In the high room.
New outbuildings have been built.
Now pictures havo been placed on
the walls.
The salaries of tho intermediate and
primary teacher, have been raised 11 vn
