brought a specimen ear in a few dava
ago that measured fourteen intches in
length, and says he liaa ears of corn of

Mrs. Alex. Weddol of Buffalo
county, Nab., camu to Nemaha last
Saturday and -visited Mrs. Rachel
Weddel until Monday. She is visit
ing at Auburn und receiving medical
treatment, as her health is quite poor.
James Illatt viBited Troy, Kansas,
Falls City and Rulo, starting from
Nemaha Thursday of last week and
returning Tuesday. He has taken a
ministerial work at Rulo, where he
will preach this winter, hut will cons
tinue to live in Nemaha.
Last Saturday Miss Graco Young
was out driving wheu a dog frightened
the horse and it ran away. Miss
Grace jumped out of tho buggy and iet
tho horao go. It ran through town,
but was stopped in front of Hill's
drug store. Tho only damage dono
was a brokon shaft.
Gilbert & McCandloss have been ex
pecting their ready made skirts for
some time but thoy wereinot received
until Thursday. A few days ugo a
young lady came in tho store and said
to A. R. Titus: "Havo you got your
skirts on yet?" Albert blushed and
told her ho had not.
Lncian Edgar Follensbee, the noted
lecturer from tho Pacific coast, will
deliver the second lecture in tho
Nemaha entertainment course on Fris
day evening, Ootobor 30. , Prof. Fol
lensbee is a very talented and interest
ing speaker, his lecture overflowing
with good sound logic, wit and humor.
