Mrs. J. W. Taylor of Auburn re-
turned home Tuesday after a week's
visit with her mother, Mrs. Hitter of
Asplnwall precinct, who has been quite
sick but who Ih now some better.
The'depot looks fairly woll now, as
the broken siding on tho lower part of
the building lias been replaced with
new aud the building repainted. This
moans that wo will have no new depot
for some time.
J. A. Peterson, owner of Chestnut
Ridgo Fruit Furm, south of Brown
ville, gave us a pleusant call Friday of
last week, subperibed for Tho Adverti
ser, and gavo an order for COO letter
heads and GOO envelopes.
Everybody likes to bo present when
the children entertain, and on Satur
day, Auguat 23. a first class entertains
ment will be given by the little follows
of the Auburn Chautauqua. They
have been drilling for weeks.

The twelfth annual reunion of tho
Nemaha County Old Settlers associas
tion will be held in tho beautiful park
in Nemaha on Saturday, August lGth.
Hon. Edward Roaewater, editor of tho
Omaha Bee, Judge S. P. Davidson of
Tecumseb, Hon. John H. Dundaa and
others will nanko addresses. There
will be u game of baseball between tho
Argos of Nebraska City and Originals
of Omaha for a purso of $150. Two
gamed played, Mrs. Ona Tourtelott
Baird, elocutionist; Miss Perle Minick,
soloiBt; Prot.F. O. Fritz, taxidermist,
with his display of mounted animals
and birds; M. A. Perkins with a fine
display of curio3 and weapons from
Philippines ; Dray'a cornet band of Aus
burn, besides home musical talent, will
entertain the people. Reduced rail
road rates have been secured.
