The canes are uicaly polished and vr nished. In the center of tho platform is a large arm chair made from nativo wood, the arms and back being formed of curiously, formed wood ingeniously Interwoven, Mr. Hoover was many years making tho collection, miiimfuci luring the canes and putting1 together the chair and platform. lie is probai bly the best posted man in Nebraska on native woods. Mrs. Davidson Flusters of Hrown villo died at the residence of her daughi tr, Mrs. M. S. Mclnlnch of Auburn, Satuiday, April 12, 1002. Mrs. Plas ters had been an IVeriny from a cancer lor some timo and bad beou In a. hos pital at Omaha for treatment. Several weeks ago, when it was seen she could not be helped, alio started for home, stopping with her daughter at Auburn, and remaining there until her deatti. The funeral services were held at the homo in lirowuville Monday afternoon. William A. Stevenson, an old resi- dent of Nemaha county, was found dead in bed Wednesday morning, April 1(1, 1002, at his home in London pre cinct. Mr. Stevenson, who was a bachelor, had a family keeping house for him, and albo had a young n:un working for him. The young man, who slept in the naino room Willi Mr Stevenson, iot up Wednesday morns ing alid did the choies. Breakfast was then eaten, and after breakfast the went to awaken Mr. Stevenson, when it was discovered that he was dead He had evidently died without a strug gle as he was lying as if asleep. He had worked all day Tuesday and eaten a hearty supper, and was apparently as well us usual. Mr. Stevenson was 70 years of ago Ho was one of the old settlers of this county and had accumulated cunsldur able property. Ho leaves one brother and onu sister, John Stevenson and Mrs. Tracey, both of this count . Tho funeral services, conducted by Uuv. D. U. Lake, were held Thursday at 10 o'clock a. in., at the Bethel M.
