Old Settlers Meeting.
The annual meeting of the Old Set
tiers association for the election of ofA

13th. Every old settler who came to
Nebraska previous to its admission as
a state is invited to be present.
Dr. W. F. Lte, a former citizen of
Brownville but who has been living in
Deatrice for twelve or thirteen years,
got into a difficulty with a hack driver
by the name of Will Hum lust Sunday
and shot Hum, inflicting what was at
flrst pronounced a fatal wound. The
quarrel was over a bill presented by
Lee for treating Hum's wife. It is
now thought Hum will recover and
theidoctor has been released on bail.
G. N. Titua probably gives employs
ment to more persons than any other
one man in Nemaha county, and eveij
one of them, man, woman, boy or girl,
has a good word to say for Nat Titus
If the election was left to them Nat
would go in by a unanimous vote. The

and the fruit farm embrace all oppor
tunitiea to speak a good word for Nat
Tltns. The strongest democrat or pop
ulist can say nothing truthfully against
his character. He is a clean, honor
able, intelligent business man just
the kind of men we need in the legislature.
