the weather is unfavorable the festival
will be held in the Minick hall. Every

home since her marriage, four mouths

Mis. Matne, living in Missouri, had
her daughter-in-law. Mrs, Josiah Mat
tie, living in the southeastern part of
Nemaha county, arrested for assault
and threatening to shoot tho old lady.
Tho trial was held before Judge Smiley
Thursday of last week and the younger
lady found Innocent, thus throwing
the coats on the mother-in-law. Tho
latter said nil she had was tho clothes
she wore and she offered to give them
up but the judgo and Special Constable
Shorm Titus decided to throw off their
costs and lot her go.
Not long Bince E. J. Clark, who
owna a farm near IIo.vc, lost three
cowa by some mysterious deaease, He
had the curcasses of the animals re
moved to a hog pen, where he fed them
to a lot of shouts. Not long afterwards
tho shoats developed the satuu symp
toms as were notictable' in the cows
just beforo they died and the result
was that the hogs were soon numbered
with tho dead. A dog belonging on
tho place ate somo of the meat off the
carcasses of the cowa, and it, too, died
of the eamo Btraugo disease.- Auburn

regions. He diives through the coun
try and sells aoap worth $5 a box, which
sum includes the price of forty yards
of carpet, selected from samples which
ho has in his wagon. Ho takes the 85,
leaves the box of soap, promises to de
liver tho carpet of tho selected sample
within a week and drive? away. The
6oap is worth probubly dfty cents. It
stava with the purchaser. The carpet
is worth probably $15, but it stays with
the fakir and has not yet been deliv
ered to a single victim. Farm families
should be on their guard against this
new fakir and ug.iiuat all other fakiis.
