Gilbert McCandlesu.
Miss May Kerker was one of the nu
merous grip sufferers for a few days
but is about well again.
The new tlrm of Gilbert fc McCand
less are receiving the new goods. They
are putting in a good stock.
Mis. II. E. Williams drove up from
Shubert Tuesday to visit her parents,
Mr. and Mrs. James A. TilUo. She
returned home the next day.

in Nemaha Wednetdiy evening, April
18th. Mr. Youtzy gives a lecture on
Gen. Lew Wallace's popular literary
production, "Hen Hur, Story of the
Christ," illustrated with more than
fifty beautiful stereeptlcau views, life
size. Admission: Adults, 15 couts;
children uader 12 years of uge, 10
cents.
Entertainment and
Concert.
Mrs. Alice MeCundluss, assisted by
some of the best local talent, will cive
an entertainment and concert at Hoo
ver's opera house, on Saturday night,
April Mth. Mrs. McCandless will
give a number of recitations, one of
especial merit and interest being enti
tled "Hagar's Farewell," which will ha
given in costume There will also be
good music, etc., etc , and al
together it will be one of the very best
entertainments ever given in Nemaha.

Chaplain Mailley made an address on
tbe Philippines Wednesday night, in
the opera honso. The talk was inters
rating to all, even to those who did not
