of the 5 000,000 fauns in the country,
should, until now, have hd no repre
sentative paper, poultry journals being
almost without exception, published

however, which .has recently been es
tablished at Des Moines, 1 1., has chang
ed this, and in it farm poultry, grown
to pay grocery and dry goods bills, finds
a piactical and truly representative pa
per. It should be read on every farm
where a chick "peeps" and a lion scrat
ches for It It is just what the farmers
and farmers wives and daughters who
"keep chickens," and sell the eggs and
meat they produce, havo longueeihd
for it is made expressly to meet their

At the regular mooting of tho Shu
bort Camp, No, 20, Woodmen of the
World, ou last Tuesday evening, the
members had one of tho most
plaaBant sessions of the Camp since
iti organzation in this city. Be
sides several initatlonB into tho pro
taction degree of tho order, and the
rendition of an excellent program of
both vocal and instrumental music, a
lunch was served aud the work in
the Protection degree was closed
and the Camp was opeued in tho
Morning degree, This degree was co
ducted by tho degree ofllicers of Nema
ha camp, and four oandidatss for high
er honors were taken through the for
est. Tho degree team of tht Nemaha
Camp was assisted byjranny members
of their camp, as well as from mem
bers from other Camps about us,
and they didjtbeir work well. Shub
ort Camp is not having anything of a
boom, as ;it wore, hut is having a
steady and healthy growth and that
growth is becoming moro rapid as tho
principles and plans of the order be-
come better understood by the people
and such occasions as tho members
enjoyed last Tuesday evening are be-
coming frequent not only hero, but In
all the Camps of tho order wherover
located.
