Tho platform contains a strong freo silver plunk, as follows: "Wo demand a restoration of tho monoj' of the constitution by luw pro viding for tho free and unlimited coin age of both gold and silver as full legal tender money at tho ratio of six teen to one, regardless of tho action of any other nation." An animated fight over tho money question was tho most striking feature of tho Michigan republican convention.
