All school lands under leaso aro subject to appraisement at any
tlmo the Board of Educational Lands and Funds so elects.

aro given tho right, at the expiration of said contracts, to apply for
new contracts. If tho bid of the lossce shall to equal to the" amount
bid by any other porson, tho lessee's bid shall bo accepted. (This
means that If at tho close of tho auction tho lesseo's bid Is ns much as .
tho highest bidder, his bid shall bo accepted.) If the highest bid re
ceived shall bo made by a porson othor than tho lessee, the value of
all tho improvements on tho land shall bo appraised by the county
board, which shall bo made within thirty (30) days after tho accept
ance of tho bid, and after boing signed, shall, within (5) days, bo filed
with tho county treasurer of tho county in which tho land is situated.
Tho lesseo and succoss'ful bidder shall share equally In the costs of
tho nppralsomont. Elthor tho lessee or tho successful bidder may, If
dissatisfied with tho nppraisemont, within thirty (30) days after tho
filing thereof, nppeal therefrom to tho District Court. Tho successful
bidder, if ho bo other than tho former lessee, shall, within thirty (30)
days aftor the filing of tho nppraisemont, pay to the county treasurer,
for tho uso of tho former lossoo, tho amount of tho nppralsomont.
Buildings, fencing, wells, cisterns, irrigation ditches, windmills, or
chards and trocs considered Improvements.
Tho holders of lease contracts executed prior to July 9, 1897, nro
given tho right, at tho expiration of said contracts, to mako application
for and rccolvo now leaso contracts upon said lands, and thoy will not
bo required to compoto for tho contracts, and tho rate of rental will bo
tho samo as stipulated In the old contract; Provided, that all of tho
rental duo on tho old contracts has boon paid.
No lands now owned or hereafter acquired by tho stato for educa
tional purposes can be sold except nt public auction. (See page 290
Laws of Nebraska, 1919.) Tho last Logislaturo made no provision for
tho snlo of educatlonnl lands, except ns follows; Tho law provides
that tho Commissioner of Public Lands and Buildings shall mako a
list of all isolated tracts o school lands containing less than forty (40)

Stato of Nebraska In trust for tho permanent school fund; apprniso

(25) per cont in cash on day of salo, and tho balance to bo secured by
snlo contracts running ten years nt six (G) por cent annual Interest;
tho purchnsor having tho right to pay all of tho unpaid purchase
money, or any part of it in multiples of five- '5) por cent of tho total
