FOR CHILDREN'S BIRTHDAY J I V 12 A rURE-BRKI) PIG OR CALF. In selecting birthday and Christmas gifts for children in rural communit ies, why not give a pure-bred pig, calf, or other animal? This is the suggestion of tho United States De partment of Agriculture, which, witii tho various States, is conducting the "Better Sire Better Stock" campaign A recent questionnaire study of the t utility valuo of pure-bred live stock showed, among other results, that homo Influenco is an important factor governing the breeding of suporlor domestic animals.
