It is criminal carelessness to try to keep in use gas tubing that will permit even an infinit esimal amount of gas to escape, by patching it with tire tape, putty, rags, soap or bread dough as has been shown upon investi gation to have been nono in many Instances. Worn out gas tubing should bo replaced by- purchasing only Ihe best grade of tubing. It may cost a few cents more, but it' is worth it. Ask for and insist upon hav ing only tbe highest .grade, for such tubing is absolutely odor less and will last longer than the inferior articles which are sold for a cent or two less per foot than the superior make. Customers who need tubing, purchase wisely when they como to this office. Only the best grade of tubing and that best fitted for the service re quired, is permitted to be sold. Recent heavy rains over much of the state have started the weeds in J many pastures. Tho annual rag weed, king weed and gum weed" seem , to be tho most prevalent Wherevcrj I the grass is too close, or trampling, tho weeds 'usually find it easy to get a foothold. , Tho Nebraska Agricultural College says clipping them with the mower boforo they form seed is the best prac tice. If they aro annuals, that is, live but ono year, mowing should cradl 1 cato them. A stand of weeds crowds out tho grass by using up water, plant food and shading. A half day spent in clipping them should pay good re turns in fall pasture. Dixon Optical Co. tests eyes. mu HAROLD H.
