THE NORTH PLATTE SEMI-WEEKLY TRIBUNE CHATS WITH YOUR GASMAN Some people quoatlon our sln carlty when wo urge our cus tomers not. to waste gas. "Wliy should you caro?" they say. "The moro gaa. people waste tlio higher the bills are and the more money you got" To thoso unacquainted with tliOj facts this sounds reasonable enough, but nothing could be further from th.o triith. Tlo good-will of tho public is qur best ascot. Wo want satisfied f customers. It is easy to sec. therefore, that a friendly cus tomer with a small bill Is more to our advantage than a cus tomer with a big bill who thinks he has been overcharged. Of covrse wo can not regulate tho amount of gaa that you use, but wo can and do urgo you to tako caro that your consumption does not exceed your actual needs. In other words, we want you to obtain complete satisfac tion from your gas. service. Could anything bo fairpr? North Platte Light & Power Co. I I'KOGKAM 1'OK MKMOJtlAI. Dear Editor: Slnco some of tho stuto papers havo quoted remarks I havo made relative to taxation, I havo received sovcral Inquiries as to just what my Ideas wore with reforonco to this very im portant question. Being a candidate for state treasurer at tho Republican primaries. 1 believe it no more than right tho public should know whero I stand on this question of paramount .interest throughout tho state. It nin sure in favor of tax reduction NOW and am hammering for it as hard as I can. Wo do not need to wait for the, election of another legis lature or set of state offlcors to got this reduction. The special session of tho legislature reduced tho stato part of our taxes about one third, thus Betting a good example for all otbor sub-divisions of government I Over eighty per cent of all our' taxes are spent within tho eyo sight of tho taxpayers at home, by our coun- LEGIONN'AIRBS ATTENTION' All Amorican Legion mombors . ;i inert on Court Houa Square at 9:15 Memorta! day for formation and our place in the parade. Ice costs but little and in the early spring, in a well iced refrigerator it melts slowly. Spring Weather is Changeable. The thermometer often rises 20 to 30 degrees in a single day. That is bad for perishable food. . Any temper ature over 50 degrees spoils it rapidly, especially milk'. Stale milk is unwholesome long before it tastes bad.
