A fow days ago I cnllod upon Mr.

facts of his experience while serving
as a soldier In Company H 2nd U. 3.
Cavalry under Col. Mlsnor during the
years 18G0 to 1809. Ho joined this
regiment aftor ho served In Company
A, of tho 27th Ponnsylvnnltt Infantry
Voluntcors throughout tho Civil war.
Mr. Cohn related somo very inter

fighting tho Sioux Indians In Lin
coln county. Ills regiment was first
stationed nt Kort Kcnrnoy and lator
at Fort .WePhorson from 18GG to lSfil).
COT TON-Might meet with treachery.
Tho wagon train with measured pace,
Was moving steadily on,
To reach a noted watering placo
On tho trail of old Gratton,
A warrior, gaunt and keen of oyo,
Reached out a hrawny liand,
And sifld, "Look yonder, Mnton-tlo,
Chief of tho great Sioux Band."
The Chief then looked across tho
plain,
Now shimmering in tho sun,
And said, "In yondor wagon trnln
Thoro's food onougli to run
My pcoplo through a spaco of Moons,
Tho hluocoats they are fow,
We'll hldo 'mongst yonder low sand
dunes,
Until they arc passing through."
Mr. Cohn, who Is now 78 years oh 1,0 1,1 waning into uio hihikuh
and totally blind, has a mind as clear All(l mako no IUOVo ut

Delightfully Refreshing Assortments
$4.98
TILE APPROACH of Spring is strongly hinted by tho trim, smart, new Hats being shown by the J. C. Penney Company
millinery section. There's an adorable gathering of the coming season's newest trimmed and street shapes and sport
styles, colors that are moro and more favored, soft braids, flexible straws, stylish, fetching and appropriate for all
occasions.
While each, model reflects the styles to be seen in the high-priced millinery shops of NewYork, our prices are
surprisingly low. This again signalizes tho ability of the J. 0. Penney Company to present at the opening1 of tho
eason, millinery that is rich, daintily colorful and fashionable at prices that are within the reach of all.
Your early inspection is advised so that you can have the advantage of selection while our showing is complete.

Habit Is a great master
of our lives. We do many
things thru force of habit
and not because It Is the
right thing to do. When
wo ask ourselves why we
did this or that, we do not
know.
One Of the most detri
mental outcomes of habit
is that of spending money
continuously nt one placo
-without giving oven a
passing thought to the
possibility that tho samo
or better thing might bo
bought elsewhere for less
money.
ITablt often cheats us in
this way. Money is lost.
