S. liurnsido of Stanleton trans- ing something big in the matter of tax reduction. He said; "Tho country officials havo decided on a $90,000 cut In tho levy for this year." Tills is a fact but according to Lincoln county officials it does not mean ex actly what it says. Last year Dawson county found itself in debt about $G5, 000 wlilch It could not get by regular taxation. It wont before the logis laturo and got a bill passed allowing ii. x i.- .. . ........ . ii lu mane a special levy 10 raise uini i amount. Tho levy was made and the , money was raised. Of course it won't bo raised again this year so that ac counts for $G5,00 of the $90,000. Daw son county raised $30,000 for its road und. This year it expects to raise fund $24,000. Lincoln county is more than1""' v"""0 " twico as big as Dawson county and funoral W,U 1)0 hol(1 from tho Prcsby it will raise only $40,000 for roads. Dawson county is doing woll to cut its taxes but our people must not get tho idea that tills much can be done in Lincoln -county. Wo should remember that Lincoln county has no outstanding bonds and no registered warrants.
