They wore tired hut happy. For moro than a year they have desired to ho host to tho state hody and at tho meeting yesterday afternoon tho convention hy a hig majority on tho second hallot accepted tho invitation cxtonded hy George Wilkin's. The convention was a success although the weather was had. Almost a thousand firemen were thero nnd over 850 of thom attended a banquet last night. O. 0. Dedmore was tho" Chamber of 'Commorco delegate who accompanied tho local firemen and assisted in getting tho convention for North Platte. Tho hoys report tho treatment at tho Norfolk hotels and restaurants as fine. They say there were ten' pullmnn sleepers on tho trades all of tho timo and they wero fUled with delegates thus relieving tho crowded hotels at night. Colum bus and Sidney wero also after tho" convention. "Wo have wanted, a fire men's convention for a long, time," said J. It.
