terday from, Congressman Klncaid in
which ho announced a decision of tho
Interstate Commerce v commission
that an additional 12 reduction in
freight on hay would go Into effect
on December 27. It seems that thirty
days notice must bo given to tho rail
roads before such nn order becomes
t effective. It is supposed that this 12 i
percent Is in addition 'to the 10 per
' cont which was ordered to go Into
w '.effect on tho 20th of this month.

tho North Platto-Oberlln Highway
met with tho County Commissioners
of Lincoln County yesterday to make
report on tho road selected and . to
got a decision In tho matter. It
seemed from tho dlscusElon that the
routo has been definitely agreed up
on from Oberlln, Kansas to McCook
and froin thoro to Maywood. It has
been decided that tho route is to run
south from North Platte to the
Votaw school house. Tho conten
tion aroso as to Maywood by what
road is known as tho east road or go
by way of Wollfleot. Arguments
wore made back and forth by tho del
egations from tho places Interested.

and their frieds met at Flremens"
Hall laBt night and held tho annual
party given by tho Musicians. Tho
' guests of the evening were the
members of tho North Platte Ladloi
Band. Tho first part of tho even
ing was. devoted to a concert by the
ladles Interspersed with other num
bers. Tho concert was a Buprise and
those not on tho insldo had no idea
that the band had made such pro
gress. Following tho concert were
a numbor of stunts and then canjo
refreshments with dancing. The
musicians aro good entertafnors and
woro at thoir beBt at this party.
Mrs. C. R. Trent is reported to be
seriously ill at her homo.
