Mr. Chrlstonsen of Maxwell, father
of Mrs. Wosloy Wlghtmnn, died very
suddenly at hIH homo last Friday ev
erting, Sept. 2, 1921. Mr. Chrlstonscn
told a member of tho family that he
was tired und would Ho down to rest,
but In a short time called and said ho
was dying, and passed away very
shortly afterwards. Funeral services
wore held in Maxwell Sunday aftor
noon. Interment was In tho Brady

heen In constant use for fourteen
yoars, but since Us collapse it will
tako at least two weeks to repair If

pumping station been put In several
months ago the city would have been
without water for all purposes this

ment and everyone is entitled to a fair

FIELD DAY
The Odd Fellows' Field Day held in
Drlngman's grove last Friday was a
success from every vlowpolnt Odd
Follows and their families from North
Platte, Horshey, Sutherland and Fax
ton, to the number of about flvo hun
drod, spent the day visiting and enjoy,
lng the sports. Forty gallons of Ice
cream, a ton of watermelons and some
sixty gallons of lemonade vanished
during the afternoon. The sports
consisted of tugs of war, foot race3,
nail driving contests, pitching horse
shoos, ball game, etc. Before leaving
tho grounds an organization wns ht
fectod and officers elected to arrange
for another picnic next year. In the

osition of bulbing the line east of
North Platte to Brady-through Max
well and the majority w-as heavy lu
both towns for the project. Paxton
voted upon the propostlon the same
day and caried It with but one dis
senting vote and thus takes tho blue
ribbon In the transmission line con
test. Tho election on this proposition
was held In Hershey on August 30th
and In Sutherland on August 31st,
both of these towns giving good maj.
