.6f particular interest to Nobraska po
tato growers. Tho railroads in the
past havo been required to furnish
heaters for cars from Octobor 15 to
April 15. They sought to reduco tho
period from December 1 to March 1.
Tho shorter period was favorel by tho
largo commission firms who have
largo storago facilities. It would tend
to aid them In a speculative way by
allowing them to hold up prices dur
ing periods when It would bo unsafe
la ship on account of freozlng wc'atJi

an untoM hardship on tho small ship
per and tho growor who desires to
ship his own produce by increasing
his shipping hazard and at times caus
ing him heavy losses.
