The Democratic City Convention was called to order at eight o'clock Wednesday ovonlng in tho office of tho County Judgo In tno Court House Robert Beatty was made chairman and Gcorgo Gibbs was tho secretary. Thos. Hoaley stated tho purpose of tho mooting and nominated E. H. Evans for Mayor. No other nomina Hons woro made and tho voto was un anlmous. O. E. Elder was nominated for City Clerk and a unanimous voto was given him. Ward Committeemen were nominated and the chairman was authorized to appoint u VlccChair man and one Ward Committeeman for each ward from among the women vot ers. The meeting adjourned twenty- five minutes after being opened. REPUBLICANS HOLD CONVENTION WITH COURT ROOM OVER CROWDED. Tho Republicans of North Platte held their city convention in the Court room Wednesday evening and ovory seat was filled with tho crowd extend lng into the halls outside. S. M. Souder was Chairman and after stating tho (purpose of the meeting, asked for nominations for Mayor. E. H. Evans and W. E. Shuman wore placed before the convention, and upon counting the Votes tlKrfirst" ballot showed a ma.lor- Ity for Mr. Evans. The vote was then mado unanimous. O. E.
