' About thirty dairy farmers and milk dealers mot in tho County Court room Saturday afternoon and discussed the milk situation as it is affected by tho local conditions. Somo ot tho farmers near hero have not found a ready markot for their milk and they, are complaining against tho Experiment Station bringing tho surplus milk to this city and supplying cortnln regular customers, aunt. Snvdor was thoro nnd'told those present that the Station 1 had r.tartud Moiling Its-surplus milk here becauso there had been a milk shortage anil it was not thought right to wasto ciuautltloE of milk at tho State Farm when people hero In North Platto could not purchase what was needed. 'lhls condition has prevailed here at various times during tho past fow years. None ot tho farmers want ed to start new delivery systems over tho rcsidonco portion of tho city and It was suggested that somo central station could bo equipped to handle tho milk from tho farmers and this central station could work put a sys tem ot economical distribution which would bo to the advantage of the pro ducer and tho consumer nliko. It was shown by reports from other places that dairymen lit this Ideality aro getting as much as, or in somo cases a little more for their product than in other places and that there should be no complaint as to price. It was also stated that tho Stato Farm Is not cutting the prices or underbid ding tho local dairymen. Howovor somo maintained that Experimental Station is a stato supported institu tion and that it should not conio Into, competition wmi tno local nirmers ana dairymen. This matter Is being work ed out by those interested and prom ises an early. and satisfactory settle ment.
