Wo havo just installed a National
Cash Register in the Tribune Office
and by its use we expect to bo ablo
to keep a more accurate record of our
business than has been abblo to bo
dono heretofore. Tho record Is mado
by the machine of every cash transac
tion and In addition to this record
there is a space for a pencil notation
which will allow us to ontor tho name
of the person making a payment on
subscription and thus furnish an ad
ditional check on our subscription
records.
This office has made a specialty of
Public Sale bills and display advertis-1
inp and our facilities for this kind of
work are tho best. When an office Is
fitted for a oortaln kind of work and
the employees are given a great deal
of that kind of work to do tho proii
shows a familiarity with that kind of
work which cannot be acquired in any
other way. Wo print sale bills on any
color of paper, in any color of Ink.
in any size and in any quantity and
tho price is just what tho job Is worth
and no more.
Nothing impresses tho work of a
lodge, club or society upon its mora
bers and friends like issuing a neat
year book. This may bo of four or one
hundred pages but it must bo neat and
well done. We aro prepared to do this
work and some of tho strongest or
ganizations In our city havo hai'
print their year books in tho past. Our
prices aro right for tho quality of
work wo turn out.
Singlo copies of The Trlbuno may(
bo bought at Newton's Book Store or
at The Tribune office. Tlioy aro flvo
cents each. Anyo'no wanting morV)
than one or two extra copies should
speak In advance as we do not print
but a few more than is needed each
Issue.

WILL THAT ALARMED WORLD
Eccentric Frenchman Planned to
Build Up Large Estate, But In
the End Signally Failed.
Mingled wonder, Indignation and
ulurm were excited in the public mind
over a will left by Peter Thelusson, a
Frenchman, who died on July 21, 1707.
It appears that the testator had accu
mulated a largo fortune as a London
merchant, and by the provisions of his
will ho left to his wife nnd children
the sum of 100.000, nnd the residue
of his property, amounting to
about 000,000, he committed to
trustees, to accuinulntc during the
lives of his sons, and finally to revert
to hln oldest great-grandson. Should
no heir exist, the accumulated prop
erty was to be conveyed to the sink
ing fund for the reduction of tho nn- ,
tiontil debt. According to the lowest
calculation it was estimated that the '
fortune would amount to 10,000,000.
The will was generally stigmatized as j
absurd and Illegal, and the family test-
ed It in court, where It was sustained, .
as it was likewise in the house of lordn. ,
In 1800 an act was passed making null
all bequests for the purpose of ac- j
cumulation for longer than twenty
years after the testator's death. The
last grandson died In 1850, and a dis
pute nroso as to whether the eldest
son's grandson should Inherit or tho
eldest great-grandson. It was decided
In favor of tho former. By reason of
litigation and accidents of management
tho fortuno Inherited was Httlo more
than the original 600,000.
Eruptions on"tlfe' Sun.
Not long ngo, at tho Ycrkcs ob
servatory, an eruption wns observed
(and photographed) on tho rim of tho
sun which throw up material to a
height of 500,000 miles. One cloud of
it, which appeared us If floating de
tached, was reckoned to have some
thousands of times the volume of tho
earth. (We are accustomed to regard
great volcanic explosions on the earth
ns the most apoalling of natural phe
nomena, but they are fecblo and tri
fling disturbances compared with tho
outbursts which are continually tak
ing place all over tho body of the
sun.

WHAT SHAPE HAS MOTH HOLE?
On This by No, Means Simple Question
Hangs Result of an Omaha
Lawsuit.
On whether a moth makes an oblong
hole or a round hole when he sinks his
molars Into tho more succulent por
tions of dnd's last winter overcoat or
sister's summer furs, hinges a law suit
in Justice Collins' court, brought by
an Omuha store against Miss Jose
phine Hill of Council Bluffs. The storo
seeks to enforce payment for an 80
suit which Miss 1III1 Is alleged to
have purchoscd, says the World-Herald.
According to the girl's testimony, u
week after she bought the suit she
found a moth hole In It. She returned
It to the store. The suit was mended
and given back to her with Instruc
tions to wear it 30 days and bring it
linck at the end of that timo If not
satisfactory.
Miss Hili testified she woro the suit
for 30 days, placing It carefully on a
hanger In her closet ench night. At tho
end of tho speclllod period, examina
tion, she snld, revealed not ono but n
whole community of holes. She re
fused to pay for the suit, and the storo
took the case Into court.
After one clerk for tho storo told tho
court the holes complained of couldn't
he until holes, because any self-respective
moth oats a round hole, whllo
thoso under discussion wero distinctly
oblong, and after Miss III11 had mado
mi exhibition of the holes and another
clerk had suggested that Miss Hill
might havo worn the holes In the
skirt by rubbing against her type
writer desk, Justlco Collins looked
