On nccount of tho Labor Day cele bration the opening of tho City Scnoos has been postponed until Tues day, Sept. 7th. This was done by action, of tho Board of Education. For weeks' the school buildings have been In tho hands of carpenters, tinners, plaster ers, painters and cleaners getting them into shapo for tho opening of tho new term. Four new cottago schools, havo been built and equipped ready for the opening day. Most of tho other buildings havo been redecorated so that It will bo an almost new looking school plant that will receive tho boys and girls as they start tho now term. Superintendent Llttel announces a general meeting ot all teachors In the City Schools for Saturday afternoon at three o'clock In tho Franklin Aud itorium. At that time somewhat de tailed plans for the first days will be nken up by tho Superintendent and the principals. Every teacher is expect ed to bo here at that time and take part in the conference. Superintendent Llttel has had a ready response to the request for rooms and will havo on fUo in his office a list from which teachers may make a selection. While there will be no school on Monday, the teachers will not bo Idle. There will be opportunity for registra- tfrn rf minflf in Mio CamIa nn1 Tnn I ior High Schools on Monday but no registrations will tako place In tho Ward schools until Tuesday morning.
