COUNTRY CLUB.
Tho first annual picnic . of the
Country Club was hold yesterday
whon about, a hundred and fifty gath
ered at tho club houso in tho after
noon and brought lunchos Intending
to stay the rest of tho day. Golf was
played, Horton Mungci: winning tho
cup. Tho driving contest was won by
Dr. Wurtellc. Tho approach and put
contorst by Arthur Rush In "tho ladles
contest Mrs. Arthur Rush won first

put contest Mrs. Redflold and Mrs.
Geo. Glbbs tied. Many other races
woro staged and everyone enjoyed a

Now IVntcr Rates.
An ordlnanco was passed by the
City Council last Tuesdaynlght which
makes some difference In the cost ot
water to the consumers. A service
chargo of forty cent a months was
authorized. This Is in addition to tho
minimum chargo which still stands.
In tho future no discounts aro to bo
allowed. Costs of water production
has made this necessary although
the increase has been postponed from
time to tlmo fwith tho hopo that it
would not bo necessary. The change
