Long Distance Telephone Service
!as Been Restored.
!
Nearly every town in Nebraska, South
Dakota, Iowa and Minnesota to which tele
phone service was cut off by last Sunday's
storm can now be reached over the long
distance telephone lines.
Temporary wires have been strung on
all lines to provide emergency service.
Some long distance calls may be delayed
because it will be necessary to send them
over emergency routes, until the permanent
lines are rebuilt-
But more than ten thousand poles and
crossarms, hundreds of miles of copper wire,
and other supplies were sent immediately to
the damaged areas and nearly one thousand
repairmen are now at work restoring per
manent lines.
