THE CHANGE IN THE crrv school boundaries Tho ovor crowding ot the Washing ton and' Jefferson schools has pre sented a problem to the board of edu cation which has boen solved with difficulty. Temporarily tho First room in tho Washington school was placed in tho basement but with the coming of cold wonthor tho board decided to make tlome arrangement whereby no basomonts would bo used. It at tomntod to have a one or two room building built for temporary use but was told by tho contractors that nothing could bo done until after tho first of January. It attempted to buy tho old dopot building which could have boon moved onto some school ground and usod temporarily but tho Union Paclllc deckled not to soil It Nothing soemod possible but to use the plant on hand. A survey showed tfint thore was ono room In tho Jeffer son school which might ho usod and that thoro was one room In tho Cen tral building which was not being used full time and that It could bo made to servo for tho rest of tho year. Ac cordingly as a last rosort, tho board directed that tho room In tho Control building bo fitted up and that a now district bo created for tho Fifth and Sixth grades only. This now district is to bo bounded on tho north by tho contor of tho Union Pacific tracks, on tho east by tho first street oast of Dowoy, called Pino street, on tho south by tho main channel of the South Platte river and on tho west by tho first street west of Locust, called Vino street or by tho second street wost of Locust called Sycamore About 40 pupils In tho Fifth ond Sixth grades will bo included in this room and the western boundary will do pond on tho number of pupils from that district. Thon it was ordorod to opon an additional room in tho Jef forson school and to set ovor the lino . for tho grados below tho fifth grado. fron; Locust to tho next street west' called Vino street. If this does not ' change, enough pupils to relfovo the crowded condition tho llmi will bo sot ovor still one block furthor wost Mrs. Allen will bo transform! from tho Washington to tho Central fifth and sixth grade room, Miss Whelploy irom tuo Jjincom socond room to the Jefferson now room and Mrs. Ella Blak'o-Drako will tako bor old olacn in tho Lincoln school. Many paronts and pupilef will bo dlsanno ntod nnd displeased n this change but no'otlmr courso scorned possible. Each school Ib kept up to tho standard, thoro is no difforenco in tho toachors selected for any oi mo scnoois, mo toxts are tno! same, each is a good modom build- ing and each offers exactly the same advantages.
