Tho abovo Is published Just to show that Nebraska towns aro not delay laying their paving "until labor and material gets cheap," as has been dono in North Platte. This city Is a very strongly unionized town; do our union mou favor cheaper labor? Aro they in favor of pounding down tho wages of tho man who works In tho brickyard, in tho cement mill or who handles tho brick and concreto In tho construction of tho pavemcnt7 Certainly North Platto union men aro not so solllsh as to demand Dig wages for themselves and yet favor tho cut ting down of tho wages of other me chanics or laborers. If North Platte is to maintain its present prosperous condition It must bo up and coming as aro other Ne braska towns. Preliminary propara tlons should bo made this, wlntor for paving at least fifty blocks next year, and not wait for cheap , labor ana cheap material. Wo don't, want cheap labor, and wo can't got cheP materi al unless thcro Is cheap labor. .. i ::o:: i Episcopal Regional Conference.
