No. 67 CAR MOVEMENT BREAKS ALL LOCAL HECOKDS THIEVES MAKE MG HAUL AT THE GltEEK STOHE As ovldonco o tho onormous traffic paBsiug over the Union Pacific It Is only nccessury to state that for two weeks or moro past the avcrago dally of cars handled through tho North Platto yards has been two thousand' ono hundred and fifty. During one day within that period 2500 carsiwere handled, which heats any previous rocord by 200 cars. Tralnmasted Sholver said yesterday morning that for the next week freight' traffic will be even heavier, duo to thoj fact that tho strike In California lastj wcok hold back considerable freight that now, as the men havo returned to work, will bo rushed through with all posslblo speed. Much of this delayed California freight Is fruit and other perishable stuff. Engine and train men are given barely their lawful terminal rest time, and are making big money to meet the high cost of living. Tho unprecedented freight traffic 1b somewhat of a strain on tho motive power, but generally speaking the en gines are In excellent shape. It Is expected that the heavy fright traffic will continue for sev eral weeks. ::o:: , Married This Morning.
