Nolson Howe, charged with burglar
izing tho homo of Georgo Talbot on
July 11th of money and a wntch, had a
preliminary hearing In tho county
court Wednesday and was bound over
to the district court under a bond of
$500. Ho was unable to furnish a
bond and was committed to Jail. The
morning following tho robbery Howe,
who lives In tho west end of town,
was seen to throw a pair of trousers
Into a patch of weeds. A woman living
near by recovered tho pants and
found thoroln a watch. Talbot recog
nized both tho trousers and tho watch
as his proporty.

Stackhouso Accidentally Shoots Self.
Orla Stackhouso, aged twonty-flvo, a
brother of I). M. Stackhouso, formerly
tho stato farm force, was killed
Tuesday near Lewollcn by tho acci
dental discharge of a gun. Tho
Stackhouso family aro tenants on tho
farm owned by P. H. Barber, of this
city, and tho young man started out
Tuesday morning for tho river to
shoot fish. Whllo crawling through a
wiro fenco tho gun was discharged and
tho laid penotrated his body. His
failure to return homo rosuKcd In a
search, and his body wbb found
about four hours after tho accldont

Btroot, took a shot at a housebreaker
Monday ovenlng, but tho bullet wont
wide of Its mark. Tho burglar was
cutting tho screen on a window which
fawnkencd Mrs. Arnold. Sho nudged
hor husband, who reached for his gun
and fired twice. An examination of
the promises tho following morning
showed that tho burglar was bare
footed.
