TO BUY COAL NOW
Armed with tho latest figures sup

"That means an avorago production

OFFER 60 YEARS LEASE
OF ITS lUWIT.OF.lYAY.
State Consul Geortra Wolz, of Fr-
mont, head of the Lincoln Highway
association in Nebraska, is in receipt
of a proposition from the Union Pa
cific railroad for a fifty year louse
or tho railroad right of way, for
road purposes, It is stated that such
a loaso might overcome all objections
which tho government might ralso
to oxpondlturo of federal and state
aid on tho Lincoln Highway, In those
localltlos whoro tho road is lnsido the
right of way,
whllo reproscntntlven of tho rail
road attending tho recent Lincoln
Highway mooting In .Kearney did
not take an active part In tho discus
sions rolatlvo to ubo of the right of
way for road purposes, It was intlmat-
cd that tho railroad might mako somo
arrangements that would be satisfac
tory to all. Tho road boosters wont on
rocord as favoring condemnation pro
ceedings against tho ra'lroad for use
of the right of way to extent of main
traveled roads. But It was suggested
oven nt that time, that tho railroad
first be requested to consider the mat
ter and possibly offer a foaslblo solu
tion of tho problem.
Whether or not this proffor nf the
Union Pacific will be acceptable re
mains to bo soon. It gets right back
to tho original movo of the railroad
to establish clear title to tho right of
way lands, which has Hoon opposed in
somo of tho counties through which
tho road passes. It also remains for
tho futuro to detormlne If Buch lease
would bo approved by the authorities
in Washington, as applied to grantlm:
of federal aid for road building on tho
right of way. Kearney Hub.
