The funeral of Mrs. Ball, who died
at her homo sixteen miles south of
the city Monday night, was held from
tho church in the Fourth ward yes
terday afternoon.

Miss Grace Smith, the trained nurse
who had been helping the Edwards
children thru the llu, was called back
to Omaha Wednesday evening. Miss
Smith is a former North Platto girl
and took part of her training in the
General hospital, but ill health forced
her to discontinue her work hero. She
has been a member of an Omaha nurs
es club, an organization of over two
hundred members, for some time, and
was sent hero by Dr. Clark.

with bunches of lilies of tho valley.

ley. Mrs. Gantt woro a gown of blue
satin. The military note was lent by
the uniforms of tho groom, Rov. Mac

station hall Tuesday evening Art Nel
lis, tho local mat artist secured two
straight falls from his opponent, Ben
Guida, of Poets, Col. Both falls came
within ten minutes, and gavo evldenco
that Guida was outclassed. Tho de
feated man apologized by saying that
he had been off a sick bed but two
weeks.
A wrestler named Jodor, of Kear
ney, challenged tho winner to a mat
finish and arrangements for a match
between iNellls and Joder will bo
made.

Will Plant Memorial Tress.
At the meeting of the Twentieth
Century Club Tuesday it was decided
to set out trees along tho Lincoln high
way as a memorial to tho Lincoln
county boys who have made tho su
premo sacrifice in the world war. All
families who have given a son for this
great cause are asked to notify tho
secretary of the club, Mrs. B. J. Fra
ter, In order that a tree in his honor
may be placed along tho highway.
