A majority of tho minos aro working up to only about fifty per cont qf their capacity, this condition being duo to inability to securo cars. Coal Is seldom stored at tho mines ub It requires double handling, and If cars are not available tho mines closo until they can ho secured. After1 visiting about twenty different operutors Mr. Pennington secured sixteen cars of all varieties.
