In rendering this service wo have done It under tho strongest competition, for during this time tho other churches of tho city havo had their strongest pastors some of whom have been so "popular" that most everybody has sung their prals os. And, too, conditions havo changed both in and out of tho church, which change has como to pass through tho multiplying of clubs, with which many of our people havo identified them selves and with these clubs divided their time. But, we must not forget the financial sido of it. Eight years ago there was a debt against the church of $2,400, bearing interest. This with interest amounted to nearly $3,000 which has been paid. There is now abovo $G,200 on hand for the new church, whlchc totals nearly $10,000 above the regular expenses.
