It asks that ho bo relieved from tho duties of gomnil mnnngcr of tho Union Pacific at a thno that will best suit tho convenience of the road. Tho general manogor of tho Union Pacific is a creature of tho president and due to tho fact that the resignation of President Mohlor becomes effective July 1, next, it is more than likely that ho will hold the wholo matter In oboynncc, turning It over to Ills successor, who will make tho ap pointment. Although General Manager Ware asserts that ho has had tho resigna tion under consideration for somo months, to his friends anil to tho rail road people it comes as a surprise. Asked why ho resigned Mr. Ware said. "There are two reasons for quttlng tho position. The first Is that my physical and mental condition Is good nnd I want it to remain so. "Tho Bccond reason 13 that I have been ongnged In nctlvo railroad work for thirty years. I want to rest and I want to travel. I have nothing In view for tho future, so far as business or employment is concerned. I nm through with rnilroadlng. I leave tho Union Pacific with tho best of feeling toward Its officials and employes, from tho highest to the lowest. It is the best road that I know of nnd It and Its people hnve treated me kindly.
