Respecting increased productive olllclcncy, both Mr. Stono of tho en gineers and Mr. Carter of tho flremon dwolt upon tho fact that tho railroad companies of tho west havo never mndo payment to onglneors and fire men on this basis. As between 1913 and 1890, Mr. Carter showed tho gain in productlvo efficiency, as Indicated by tho swelling revenues of western railroads companies, hnd boon between forty and fifty por cent, Tho roads, too, aro abundantly able . to meet a Talr wage request, as Mr. Carter showed that the accumulated Burplus of forty-thrco leading western roads amounted to $025,898,415 on Juno 30, 1914, and tho actual cash on hand of all tho railroads engaged In tho ar bitration amounted on tho same ditto to $208,278,100. Now Auto Ilegistratlon Linv. Thc'automobllo registration bill is now the law of tho land tho governor having signed It Tuesday ovenlng.
