Trout, ox-pollceman of North Platto, and Sheriff A. J. Sails bury. Tho finding of tho body has corao aftor u long and diligent search by tho local authorities and by residents of tlio Hcrshoy and Sutherland vicinities. It was located by tho confession of Roy Roberts, now being held In tho Btato penitentiary, Who confessed to Mr,. Trout Tuesday that CharleB Clay ton had killed tho man by striking him in tho head with a "hammer on August 2nd last, and that he, Roberts, had taken tho body away and burled it. He claims that they wcro In to gether on the crime, thq purposo of which was to get tho team and sell It, and that Clayton killed the man and ho did tho rest. A few days previous to tho finding of tho body Mr. Trout went to Lin coln to call on Roberts in tho peniten tiary,. Ho had known ' Roberts as a boy ahd was friendly to him. In addition to being bnd ly decomposed, it was frozen in tho sand and Ico and tho sand nnd Ice remained frozen about It. It was brought to ho morguo to be thawed out so that an Inquest could bo held. However , the head was uncovered and a largo hole was found In tho skull above and between tho eyes. Charles Clayton was arrested Wed nesday on tho chargo of complic ity in tho murder and ho will bo held for the inquest nnd maybo for tho trial. Ho and Mrs. Clayton wepro put on tho stand Wednesday nnd they absolutely denied all their for mer stories and now testify that Roberts and Connett left tho Sund place, whoro the murder was pre sumed to have been committed, about four o'clock on tho afternoon of August second and that that was the las scon of Connett. Tho other details of tho story regarding tho selling of tho team remained unchanged. A coroner's Jury was empaneled lost evening nnd at five o'clock thoy met and viewed tho remains of Con nott at tho morguo and thoy then ad journed until this morning. Hearing boforo tho coroner's Jury will be start ed today and will probably contlnuo for" several days. Tho following named men were selected aa Jurors; W. H. Ingles, A. B. Hoagland, Thos. L. On account of tho complications that have recently arisen tho caso will probably bo left over to another, term. Hearing on tho caso against Charles Clayton, who Is charged with complicity, la yet to bo had in tho county court.
