stated that W. D. Oldham, of Kearney,

Arthur Anderson of Sutherland ap
peared Tuesday before the county
court nnd entered a plea of not guilty
to enticing a minor to gamble. The
charges were preferred against him
by George White of Sutherland for
gambling with his minor son, John
White. Anderson was bound over un
der bonds of one hundred dollars
which were furnished by the com
plaining witness, Mr. White. The
crime with which Mr. Anderson is
charged Is a serious one and calls
for a heavy fine or for penitentiary
sentence.
Mr. and Mrs, William Martin and
their son-in-law, Ernest Gossart and
wlfo of Hastings, arrived In the city
tho first of the week to spend a few
days here looking over tho land in
Lincoln county with the view to pur
chasing u good sized tract.
