Sues For Divorce
Suit for divorce was filed Wednesday
with the clerk of the district court
by Anna Hitchcock of this city from
Martin Hitchcock. She asks divorce
ment on the grounds of desertion and
non-support, infidelity and that her
husband is now in the penitentiary.
She also asks for the custody of the
two minor children and costs of the
action.
She alleged that they were mar
ried June G, 190S in Lexington and that
thoy lived in Nebraska since that
time. She has been a resident of
North Platte for the past three years.
On May 10, 1910 sho alleges that her
husband left her for no cause and
went to Sterling, Colo. There ho com
mited adultery with a fourteen-year
-old girl for which ho was arrested
and sentenced on July 28th to the
Colorado state penitentiary for a term
or from ten to fifteen years. She
states that he has not contributed to
her support for the past four years
and is an unfit character for her to
live with. The chllren nro Dorothy,
aged 4, and Luclla aged 5.
John D. Kelleher, of Maxwell, candi
date for county commissioner on the
democratic ticket, was in the city "Wed
nesday looking after his political
fences.
Mrs. S. C. Sherwood left the first of
tho week for Omaha where she will
visit relatives for a few days. From
there she will go to Lincoln to visit
a sister and other relatives.
Nells P. Neilson and Miss Regina S.
Jensen, residents of this county in the
Curtis vicinity, were married Sunday
at tho homo of the bride's parents.
Rev. C. H. Schmidt, pastor of the
Lutheran church, officiated. The young
couple will make their home on a
farm in that vicinity.
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hansen left the
first of the week for Omaha to spend
a few days at the Ak-Sar-Den In
Omaha.
A girl was born Monday evening
to Mr. and Mrs. Leon C. Sawyer. Mrs.
Sawyer was formerly Miss Maude Lou
den of this city.
